Étapes
Peel and chop 1000 g potato into even chunks and place them in a large pot of water.
Add 5 ml salt to the water and boil the potatoes until they are completely tender when pierced with a fork.
In a small bowl, mix together 50 g butter, 5 ml dried parsley and 2 ml garlic powder until well combined, then set aside.
Pat 400 g beef steak dry with paper towels and season both sides thoroughly with 3 ml salt and 3 ml black pepper.
Place a heavy skillet over high heat and add 15 ml vegetable oil until it begins to shimmer.
Place the steak in the hot pan and sear for 3 to 4 minutes per side until a brown crust forms and the desired doneness is reached.
Drain the water from the potatoes and mash them thoroughly while adding 100 ml milk and 30 g butter for the mash.
Stir in 2 ml salt and 1 ml black pepper to the mashed potatoes until they are light and fluffy.
