
Brown sauce with Christmas ham
A traditional and delicious brown sauce that pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes. This recipe uses leftover ham and is seasoned with a bouillon cube, offering a rich and authentic flavor.

Finely mince or dice 200 グラム chilled Christmas ham.
Melt 30 ml butter in a pot over medium heat. Add 30 ml wheat flour and stir until smooth. Cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly, until the mixture is light brown.
Crumble 1 bouillon cube into the pot with the flour mixture.
Heat 500 ml boiling water in a pot or kettle.
Add the hot water gradually to the flour-bouillon mixture, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Continue whisking until the sauce is smooth.
Let the sauce simmer gently for 3 minutes, stirring constantly, until it reaches the desired thickness.
Stir in the minced ham. Cook for another 2 minutes so the ham warms through in the sauce.
Season the sauce with 7.5 ml soy sauce and 1.25 ml black pepper. Mix thoroughly and adjust the seasoning to taste.
